"Sam" or whatever I decide to call him other than "Puppy," is growing so fast!
(Sam with his serious face, he is the most serious looking puppy I've ever seen! I think it's the wrinkles.)
Today mom showed me a Beany Baby and said, remember when he was THIS small???

I haven't weighed him this week, but he must be close to 20 lbs. (Blacky is 50 to 55 lbs.) "Sam" is about 3 1/2 months now.
He has been on 5 walks now with Blacky. Seeing the world has really matured him.
Today he didn't maul Blacky in the face, he licked him! (Blacky as a puppy was worse. He chewed Queenie's ears so much when he was teething, she got a hematoma and needed it drained. The vet said they'd always hate each other, but it never happened again.)

He fetches. I am ever amazed. He comes back with the toy and sits and even drops it if I don't try to get it. And he knows "sit" and he is always trying to one-up Blackie and he succeeds.
He is 99% potty trained now. No crate training, because he'd freak out if I locked him in one of them, and no "rubbing noses in it."
He had picked a spot in the room where he liked to go. I got rid of the rest of the newspapers in the room and used those "pee pads" instead. He stopped doing #2 inside about 2 weeks ago. Recently I put up an obstacle course where the pee pads were, and voila, he goes outside because it's easier!
Also, he has figured out how to open the (garage) door if he leans on it and it's not closed tight! Has not figured out the handle yet, but he is still too short. (Blackie always let Queenie open the doors, so he never bothered to learn how.)
Today his ears started standing up on their own. They are going to be big ears.
Last week he started to shed, he is more red now, instead of sandy.
I'm glad to see his new hair is growing longer, for a week he resembled a pit bull!
The big ears, smiling, and about to roll over:
